I just found your site today thanks to Hobbytown and am considering getting back into racing. I used to race dirt oval a long time ago. I have other things I spend my money on so I do not want to get into a class that will quickly drain all available funds nor do I want to enter one with little to no participation so what would you all suggest?

two classes will probably be what you are looking for. The Slash class which there is an intro price at both hobby shops in town. It is a totally stock spec class where if it didnt come in the box you can not have it on the trucks. The slash is an offroad truck but is run on the carpet with jumps. It is probably the most cost efficient class with the most participation.

2nd to that is the TT01 class. It is the onroad spec class. I find this just as cost effective as the Slash class but you will have to add a bearing kit, a set of Jaco Blue rubber tires, and the pinion and spur upgrade to be competitive so it may cost a bit more to get into it but it will not cost anymore to keep running it than the slash. I guess it depends on whether or not you want to run an offroad truck or an Onroad car.

Personally I prefer the TT01 out of the both but I am more of an Onroad guy.

Now if you want to spend just a little bit more but have really nice carbon fiber chassis car there is the WGT class. Upfront cost may be alittle more depending on how you go wtih the electronics but the tires are spec and the cars are real simple so it would be a small step up from the TT01 or Slash.

Come out to the track and check it out. Talk to Steve, myself (Darin), Dan Meyers, or Chris Tanner. well anybody actually should be able to help you and explain the classes. I will be out for the next couple of weeks but if you want to send me a PM I will get in touch with you and we can talk by phone. I can probably better explain it over the phone than by keyboard.
